Family Chalet

The family unit has two bedrooms (1 king size bed and the second room has 2 single beds) that share a bathroom. The chalet is air-conditioned, the bathroom has an indoor and showers and there is a shaded veranda at the front. Each room also has a separate ‘star gazer’ room at the back, which is completely open to the skies for the ultimate celestial experience.

The design is a cool and comfortable style with a few quirks along the way. In the bedrooms, you can expect vintage four-poster beds, striped canvas walls and a separate ‘star gazer’ room that’s completely open to the sky for maximum galaxy-gazing as you fall asleep. Each bedroom also has an ensuite bathroom with both indoor and outdoor showers and a shaded, outdoor veranda. High thatched roofs will keep you cool during the hot desert days (and nights!) and you’ll be pleased to hear that the bedrooms are air conditioned too.

What will you eat?

The wonderful chefs have a reputation for good, wholesome meals. As the sun rises, breakfast is served around the crackling fire before the first activity of the day. Other meals are generally eaten communally, joining your guides to share stories of adventures around Namibia. Private dining can also be arranged on request.

Skybeds experience and star gazing

Did you know that the NamibRand is a registered dark sky reserve? Meaning you can enjoy probably the best star gazing in the world. With this in mind each chalet has a "Star Gazing" extension, right of your bedroom. Giving you the chance not only to enjoy the show evolve above your head but also to decide if you want to sleep inside or out.

Quad biking

Get the heart rate pumping as you explore the iconic red dunes on a quad bike!

Day trips to the dunes of Sossusvlei (at an extra cost)

What would a trip to the NamibRand Nature Reserve be without a trip to Sossusvlei. From Kwessi Dunes you will be able to spend the day exploring the iconic Deadvlei and Big Daddy dune before spending time at Sesriem Canyon en-route back to camp.

Hot air ballooning (at an extra cost)

Take in the vastness and beauty of the reserve from above with an early morning hot air balloon flight. Additional cost applies.

Horse riding (at an extra cost)

Leave the 4 wheels at the lodge and explore the reserve on 4-legs with a 2-to-3-hour horseback safari. Additional cost applies.
