The Bazaruto Archipelago is also one of the world’s top deep sea fishing destinations. Avid anglers reel for joy at the abundance of big game species. Skills are tested against large wahoo, kingfish, barracuda, bonito and yellowfin tuna, king and queen mackerel, dourado and mahy-mahy. Only a 15-minute boat journey away, Zengelema dive site has a maximum depth of 18 meters and features a sloping wall that is home to large clams, reef fish and dazzling coral. This dive site is only available at low tide due to currents. The Two Mile Reef is our most popular location with plentiful dive sites. The coral reefs start at a depth of 5 meters and slowly descend to a maximum of 22 meters, making it possible to see large schools of reef fish, turtles, rays and reef sharks, as well as occasional visits by Dolphins, Dugongs, Manta Rays, Whale Sharks and even Humpback Whales. Our signature driving trip to the northern most point of Bazaruto Island. This is the experience of a lifetime. Drive by the lakes, villages, dunes, beaches, including Sailfish Bay and Dolphin Bay, all the way to the very tip of the northern point of Bazaruto Island to the famous Dom Carlos Point. The sea and currents are on three sides. Our team members will set up a shaded tent and a picnic lunch while you enjoy swimming, snorkelling, witnessing majestic bird and marine life with the Bazaruto lighthouse as your backdrop. Bazaruto’s spectacularly high sand dunes may tempt you to clamber up these towering works of windblown art and board back down at an exhilarating speed.
