Suspend what you know about luxury tented camps. Saseka Tented Camp, is state-of-the-art, luxurious and imbued with idyllic African wilderness. Saseka is the Tsonga word for Beautiful. Influenced by the romantic narrative of tented camps from yesteryear, the tents have been reimagined with a gentle nod to nostalgia, but with the emphasis very much on the 21st century design. The tented suites allow the call of nature and the bush to filter in to allow for a truly immersed safari experience.

Luxury Tents

The nine tented suites, with elevated views of the riverbed, are ultra-spacious safari tents on permanent foundations. Glass doors open up onto your own extensive private deck and pool, complete with sun loungers and chairs. In a private corner, there’s also an outdoor shower with bush views.

Saseka’s main area, a combination of wood and stone cladding, blends naturally into the surrounding environment and offers both an upper and lower deck with the colour palette drawn from the natural surroundings. Enjoy a drink, as you recounter your extraordinary safari with your fellow travelers.

Early morning and late afternoon game drives

From giraffes and zebra, hippos, hyenas, wild dogs, antelope and hundreds of bird species, to name a few, the diversity of wildlife in this area is astounding. You’ll get close to them all with our expert guide-and-tracker teams, who have a deep understanding of the bush and an inherent knack for finding the action in our open-air safari vehicles.

Bush walk

After a sumptuous Breakfast is served either back at the camp or in the riverbed or bush, guests are offered walks to suit their interests and fitness levels and are accompanied by an armed guide and tracker. Walks allow guests a better chance to see some of the smaller creatures of the bush as well as an opportunity to learn more about the flora and fauna of the region, and to have a chance to follow tracks in more detail.

Hot Air Balloon Excursion (off site)

One-hour long flight over the scenic, Lowveld section of the Blyde River. As the sun rises, the landscape, the vegetation and, if you're lucky, some wildlife will provide photo opportunities. Game spotting cannot be guaranteed but, on most flights, we see plains game such as giraffe and wildebeest. Terms & Conditions apply - additional cost.
