Captivating Vumbura Plains lies in the far north of Botswana’s Okavango Delta, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the largest inland delta on Earth. Vumbura Plains serves up intimate wildlife encounters on the spectacular floodplains, studded with ilala palms and small islands. The camp is an artful, contemporary balance of wood, glass, and canvas, reflecting the colors of the Delta.

The spacious contemporary tented rooms at both North and South Camps are under thatch include indoor and outdoor showers, an en-suite bathroom, private plunge pool, and outdoor 'sala’ from where you can view the never-ending wildlife parade. No air-conditioning, however, ceiling and pedestal fans are provided in all the rooms.
Family Tent
There are two family tents at Vumbura North each accommodating four guests comprising two bedrooms each with own bathroom facilities. The main adult room has a large sunken lounge and spacious showers whilst the second child’s room is smaller and has standard facilities. No air-conditioning, however, ceiling and pedestal fans are provided in all the rooms. The Family tent also features a deck area with a sala and plunge pool. Private decks link the two separate rooms.
Cuisine
The food experience will be a journey in itself, and we want our guests to feel truly indulged as they discover local ingredients and learn about this spectacular country.
Dining experience
Dining takes place either inside, at a silver service laid table, or outside, on the veranda, in the boma or around the pool. Meals can also be taken in the privacy of one’s own tent.

Mokoro experience
There is no better way of exploring the Okavango than by traditional mokoro (dugout canoe). These excursions reveal the fascinating smaller creatures of the Delta including colorful frogs and lively waterbirds. Seasonal activity or depends on guide availability.
Game Drives
Morning and afternoon game drives bring you closer to of the many thrilling interactions being played out in the wild. Night drives with filtered spotlights allow you to find intriguing nocturnal animals.

Walk in the Wilderness
On request, and depending on qualified guide availability, nature walks with skilled guides are wonderful ways of getting close to nature and observing the smaller things you miss when travelling by vehicle.
Fishing
Fishing is on offer seasonally on a catch-and-release basis. A limited supply of basic equipment is available at camp.
Hot Air Ballooning
Take to the skies in style and soar over the rich ecosystem of the Okavango Delta in a hot air balloon. Gaze over scenic splendour, watch elephant playing far below and fly eye-to-eye with an eagle. This experience ends with champagne and snacks. * Optional activity at extra cost, and weather permitting.
