The Bigodi Wetland Swamp is home to over 200 bird species and 8 primate species, including black and white colobus, blue, and L'Hoest monkeys. Other mammals like sitatungas, bushbucks, and otters may also be spotted.

At Kibale Lodge, guests can join the Tree Nursery and Reforestation Project with Volcanoes Safaris' botanist, Celine Ishimwe. Visit the nursery by Lake Lugembe, plant an indigenous tree seedling, and help rewild the 150-acre Kibale site.

Join guided birding walks around Kibale Lodge's 150-acre site, home to over 100 bird species, including the Ross’s Turaco and Black Crowned Waxbill. New sightings are added daily, and guests can help train community members in birding and guiding.

Spend up to 4 hours with a troop of up to 70 chimpanzees in their natural habitat. Watch them swing through the canopy, feed, and groom, with only 6 guests allowed per day. Learn directly from chimpanzee scientists.
