Afternoon game viewing as per the camp
Breathlessly captivating, this corner of Botswana has long been associated with the world’s greatest explorers, including David Livingstone. Follow in their footsteps at Savute Elephant Lodge. Your game drive experience lets you get up close and personal with the wildlife of Chobe National Park. As well as high concentrations of elephant, the area is home to great prides of lion and other mighty predators.
Dinner at the lodge
The vast open spaces around Savute make it the perfect place to experience the mesmerising expanse of the African night sky. Use powerful telescopes to witness constellations that you may never have seen before.
Day 3
Morning and afternoon game viewing activities as per the lodge.
Early morning and afternoon game drives let you encounter Africa’s largest elephant population. You may also spot lions, wild dogs, leopards, cheetahs and hyenas. Enjoy rare sightings of rock-climbing klipspringers and elegant roan.
Head out into the bush and find a collection of paintings that will take your breath away. These works by the San Bushmen are thought to be more than 1,500 years old. Then continue on to the amazing baobab grove, a cathedral-like cluster of 13 giant trees that are almost as old as the paintings.
Connect to the wildlife at eye-level from the lodge’s unique viewing hide, overlooking the watering hole. From first light to dusk, you are guaranteed a front row seat to nature’s drama. Depending on the time, you might catch lions, elephants, cheetahs, hyenas and antelope gathering for a refreshing drink.

Day 4

Afternoon/evening game viewing as per the camp - Feel the beating heart of Botswana! Wildlife can be spotted all year round, including giraffe, buffalo, lion, leopard, cheetah and wild dogs.
Dinner at the lodge - As evening descends, head out for a truly authentic African experience. Gather in a circle round the campfire to share stories of the day’s highlights, illuminated by the flickering glow of the flames. The scene is set by a local choir singing traditional songs, before you are invited to tuck into a feast of African dishes.
Day 5
Morning and afternoon game drives depart daily in open land cruisers. Night drives, with spotlights and stargazing presentations, are also available after dinner. As the lodge is located on a private concession, vehicles are allowed to drive before and after sunset, as well as off road.
Walking safari - Get closer to the wildlife than ever before on a Khwai River walk with one of our experienced guides. Embrace the spirit of adventure as you trek through the rugged landscape, spotting animal tracks, curious insects, rare plantlife and countless other amazing sights.
Stargazing - Be captivated by the treasures of the boundless night sky. Using a telescope, focus in on constellations that northern hemisphere visitors may never have seen before, such as the Southern Cross.

Afternoon game viewing activity as per the lodge
Motorized boating - The chance to explore open waters is a unique feature of an Okavango Delta safari. Cover more ground and delve deeper into the landscape, with a chance to spot an even greater range of wildlife. Embark on a sunset barge cruise for hypnotic views as you sip a sundowner. Available during the wet season, usually May to October.
Alternatively. embark on a thrilling afternoon game drive and encounter a wide range of birds, aquatic wildlife and mammals including elephant, buffalo and big cats. Or opt for a night drive with spotlights and stargazing presentations under the crystal-clear skies.

Day 7
Discover the magic of a new day and explore the Okavango Delta as the animal and birdlife first wake up. Head out before dawn by mokoro, encountering swooping African fish eagles and basking crocodiles. Or take to the sky in a helicopter to spot elephants, buffalo and impalas moving across the plains.
MOKORO CANOE SAFARI - Glide silently on a traditional dugout canoe, a mode of transport used by locals for centuries. Explore the shallow, clear waters, drifting past brilliant waterlilies and papyrus grasses, reaching areas inaccessible by boat. Witness brightly coloured frogs, kingfishers, dragonflies or elephants feasting on the reeds.
WALKING SAFARI - Let our experienced guides take you on a trek to experience the true spirit of Botswana. Spot amazing sights close-up, from dazzling insects and swarming termite mounts to animal tracks. These small, unexpected aspects of delta life often make the biggest impression.
HORSEBACK AND HELICOPTER SAFARI - A first in Northern Botswana, this exhilarating safari begins at first light with a 10-minute helicopter flight. Then saddle up for a guided horseback ride through the delta. Move quietly past wild dog, elephant, buffalo, hippo and zebra in their natural habitat. Additional charges apply, and horse-riding experience is essential.
VILLAGE LIFE - Visit neighboring Nxhoga village for an authentic insight into the Botswana way of life. Learn about hut building, basket weaving and the fishing industry. Meet elders, chat with the children, and browse the small market, churches and bakery.

Johannesburg, South Africa's biggest city and capital of Gauteng province, began as a 19th-century gold-mining settlement.
Okavango Delta
Known for its sprawling grassy plains, which flood seasonally, becoming a lush animal habitat. The Moremi Game Reserve occupies the east and central areas of the region. Dugout canoes are used to navigate past hippos, elephants and crocodiles. On dry land, wildlife includes lions, leopards, giraffes and rhinos.
South Africa
